1. What is a generator?
It is an electro-mechanical system that obtains mechanical energy using chemical energy and produces electrical energy with mechanical energy. It consists of the following main parts.
Engine
Generator
Control panel.
Chassis
Fuel Tank
Radiator
Battery
2. Where and how should the generator be used?
At home, at work, in stores, shopping malls, hospitals, clinics
In need of backup power for lighting and electrical appliances
Entertainment, recreation facilities and Sundays
In industrial fields
Alimar Generator produces generators with power and features to meet all field application needs
3. What is Standby/Prime/Continuous Power?
Standby Power: It is a limited time working power under variable load. It operates at an average load value of 70%. It is operated as a backup power supply in case of network outage.
Prime Power: It is a continuous working power under variable load. The average load value should be 70%. 1 hour in 12 hours can be overloaded by 10%.
Continuous Power: It is a continuous working power under constant load. The average load value can be 100%, can not be overloaded.
4. What should be considered in the location selection and installation of the generator set?
Location Selection: First of all, the environment in which the generator will be installed should be determined. If it is to be placed in an open environment, attention should be paid to the cabin and platform. If it is to be placed in a closed environment, it should be checked whether there is enough inlet for ventilation, exhaust and generator installation.
Floor: The area where the generator will be installed should be flat and not accumulate water. A height can be created by making a concrete base and ensuring that the floor is flat.
Ventilation: The removal of hot air emitted from the engine from the environment and the entry of fresh air into the environment are extremely important for the operation of the engine. To ensure these requirements, it should be checked whether the ventilation is sufficient.
Fuel System: It is necessary to provide fuel continuously and cleanly. Jul. Manual or automatic filling can be done.
Exhaust system: We must ensure that the gases coming out of the generator engine are safely discharged into the atmosphere.
Electrical System: Electrical connections must be made in accordance with the given drawing diagrams and rules.
5. Will the generator start up automatically?
When the mains power is cut off or the mains voltage values are out of the desired, if there is an automatic operation control card in your generator, it automatically starts the generator by determining that it is out of the desired value or the electricity is cut off and provides electricity to the area to be used. This process occurs within 10-20 seconds.
When the mains electricity comes back on or the voltage values return to the desired values, after a short period of monitoring, the control card automatically transfers the load to the mains and stops idle for 3 minutes.
6. In what December do we produce diesel generator?
We have generator production with powers between 5 and 2750 kVA Dec. You can get more detailed information about our generators by visiting our page.
7. How to provide original spare parts for the generator?
You can get service by calling Alimar Generator Technical Support Department. +90 (312) 354 59 48 – +90 (312) 354 50 45
8. What is Synchronization?
Generators work in parallel with each other or with the grid.
Advantages of synchronous connection of generators:
Increasing the capacity of the entire system
Improving the reliability of the system
Increase efficiency
Making them work longer
Prevent interruptions during generator maintenance
9. What happens if the generator is not maintained and checked?
Your generator is out of warranty
The generator cannot maintain stable operation, deviations in voltage and current values occur
Frequent breakdowns can occur
It causes wear and tear on mechanical parts. Shortens the service life of the engine
10. What happens if the generator is overloaded?
The engine may overheat
Wear on the engine may increase
Alternator windings may overheat
The life of the engine may be shortened
11. What should I do if I am not going to use my generator set for a long time?
Generator sets should be tested once a week with a load of 15 minutes. If long-term storage is to be carried out, the long-term storage instructions contained in the Alimar Maintenance and Usage Booklet should be applied.
12. According to what standards should I set antifreeze rates ?
You can reach the antifreeze rates through the Alimar Maintenance and Usage Booklet or the Technical Support Line.
13. How to block the sound coming from the generator?
The parts that cause the generator to make sound:
Radiator sound: The sound generated by the cooling air passing through the radiator finns with the fan and emitted by the radiator fan.
Structural Sound: Sound caused by vibration and loose connection.
Mechanical Sound: The sound caused by the engine and alternator.
Exhaust Sound: The sound that the exhaust gas makes when it is emitted.
Alimar Generator reduces these sound sources to the optimum level with sound-canceling cabin interior design and correct installation.
